DriverFocus App gets "Highly commended" at 2017 Brake Fleet Safety Awards
Date: October 4th, 2017
DriverFocus, a 10-year-old Dublin-based technology company was “Highly Commended” for its DriveNtell App by the Brake Road Safety Charity, at the prestigious Fleet Safety Awards in Birmingham last Thursday night. DriverFocus was one of six companies shortlisted in the “Fleet Safety Product Award” category, along with British Gas and Renault Trucks.
The DriveNtell App is used by employers to manage driving-related costs and risks. The App works by simply pairing a self-install, non-tracking Bluetooth device. Personalised feedback, including peer ratings and tips on how to improve is provided directly to users.
Speaking after the Awards gala, Ron McNamara, CEO of DriverFocus said “to be recognised like this by Brake is a fantastic achievement for our hard-working team. DriveNtell is a product of eight years of research and field-testing with employers, drivers, instructors and other road safety experts. We truly believe that most at-work collisions are preventable, when employers are proactive about using proven risk management tools such as DriveNtell. I congratulate all the other Award winners, highly commended and nominated companies who are striving to protect lives through innovation”.

DriverFocus wins Most Promising Start-Up Award at Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Enterprise Board's 2008 Awards.
Dublin, 10 September 2008: DriverFocus yesterday evening secured the Most Promising Start-Up Award from Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Enterprise Board, at a ceremony in County Hall, Dun Laoghaire.
Established in 2006, DriverFocus helps employers manage their drivers’ wellbeing and skills by identifying – and then training - low, medium and high-risk drivers. DriverFocus’ unique, web-based program FleetFit™, accurately assesses 12 driving-related cognitive skills, compares each driver against their peers and allows organisations to prioritise time-consuming and expensive on-road training.
Ron McNamara, founder and Managing Director of DriverFocus commented: “with rising transport bills, employers are increasingly looking to minimise insurance, training and fuel costs, while meeting business objectives and staying compliant with duty-of-care legislation. Our FleetFit™ program is a very powerful online tool that provides objective metrics on driving-related skills and this allows organisations make better informed decisions, saving both time and money.
